Definition of Application Letter
Application letter is a letter that you write to the company when you want to applying for a job. It introduces you to potential employers for the position your applying for.
Purpose of Application Letter
To express your interested in their position on the company. It for showcases your ability and your skill on the position from your experience.
How to write an application letter
1. Research the company and job opening.
2. Use a professional format.
3. State the position you're applying for.
4. Explain why you're the best fit for the job.
5. Summarize your qualifications.
6. Mention why you want the job.
7. Include a professional closing.
Differentiation
Differences between application text with cover letter. An application letter contains a brief description of the job seeker's work history or professional experience whereas a cover letter contains less information about the applicant's history and qualifications since it is accompanied by a CV that has detailed information.
Example
Dear Mr./Ms./Mrs. {Recipient's Name},
This email is in response to your job post about an opening for a Project Manager’s role at your firm. I would like to apply for the same.
My track record of completing every project within the given time and budget proves my efficiency as a Project Manager. I have worked extensively in the social sector as well as with corporate organisations.
